“Snowy Silver Elephant” 

On a full moon night, Queen Mayadevi dreams of a snowy-silver elephant with six tusks who offers her a brilliant pink lotus flower. She wakes up wondering about the meaning of her dream and a sage responds that the Queen will give birth to a son with the choice of two paths: he will either stay in the palace and become a king, or leave and become an enlightened being. Ten months later, while holding the branch of a sal tree, the Queen gives birth to a radiant baby. He was named 'Siddhartha.'

 

“Hansadhwani: Voice of the Swan” 

In the palace gardens, Prince Siddhartha sees a wounded swan fall from the sky and wants to help her. His cousin Devadatta, who shot the swan, claims ownership of her. Now, the two boys are faced with the question, “Who does the swan belong to?”
